PageLocker – Take Control

All clients have their own unique requirements, and at PSE we develop web applications specifically tailored to their needs.

The basic core requirements for someone running any kind of web application or traditional website are the same, however. Organisations want to be able to edit their content, display the content in a website, control access to that content, store and retrieve information in a database, contact registered members and analyse how their site is being used. control over security
	A sophisticated security system forms the core of a PageLocker website. Pages can be secured and linked to an unlimited list of authorised users in PageLocker. Each user has a user profile record in the database which can be tailored to your requirements. Sections of the site and/or privileged information are protected from unauthorised access, requiring users to be logged in and verified before viewing sensitive areas. control over content
	With PageLocker, the web developer defines simple forms for editors to complete which link through to sophisticated templates that are used to build the web page. The developer is given complete flexibility over design and coding, while the form that the editor fills in is kept as simple as possible. PageLocker's integrated WYSIWYG editor lets you style your text and add images just as you would edit a document in a word processor. You can paste text and even tables directly from other applications into a region of a web page or into a database record such as a press release or product description. No technical knowledge is needed. Even adding and deleting pages is a simple process, and yet advanced HTML editors still have the option to enter script if they prefer. control over database editing
	Other content management systems are focussed entirely on editing page content. They fail to realise that the most frequest updates are to information that is best edited through a database table. In PageLocker, any database table can be made available for searching, viewing and editing using tailored forms. control over bulk email
	PageLocker contains a bulk email facility that links with the user profile system (see 'control over security'). This means that you can easily send information to targeted groups, safely excluding any irrelevant or unauthorised recipients. control over traffic analysis
	Most commercial stats packages provide highly unreliable usage figures because they include hits by web search engine crawlers and editing staff and they are unreliable in identifying the hits that make up a visit to the site. Furthermore, these packages know nothing about the structure of the website so they are unable to analyse usage based on a section of the site map. PageLocker creates its own logs in the database using information that identifies the user if they are logged in, and includes a page reference that links into the dynamic menu system. PageLocker's reports module uses this information to provide powerful reports that you can tailor to your requirements.
