Summary:

Fire Precaution Services Ltd approached PSE to design and develop an online system to allow owners and tennants of public buildings to complete fire risk assessment questionnaires.

The brief

FPS have extensive knowledge of the new fire regulations and how they must be applied to public premises such as pubs and clubs

FPS wanted to make their knowledge available to all tennants of public buildings in a cost-effective service, while providing a tailored risk assessment rather than a catch-all solution.

An online solution was propsoed in order to reduce the cost of sale and allow simpler management by large portfolio owners such as breweries.

How we answered it

PSE built a .Net web application linked to PageLocker which provided the security and content management facilities for the new application. The system provides the following features:

• Logon system linked to a central user table
• Registration form for tennants and owners
• Premises search system
• Dynamic PDF file generation
• Online payment e-Commerce integration with PayPal
• Flexible online questionnaire system driven by simple Excel templates
• Full content management allowing web pages to be added and moved, based on pre-designed templates
• Audit trail and access logging
• Database editing of underlying information such as templates, premises types, etc
